Parish Walk scales Levin Down

Eight Cocking villagers joined in a short but enjoyable walk during the afternoon of Saturday 19 November 2011.
This comprised a walk from Singleton up the slopes of Levin Down, returning by a circular route enabling the participants to return, as they had come, by bus to Cocking. The weather was perfect: calm, cloudless, and very mild for the season. A distant glimpse was obtained of the small flock of Herdwick sheep – rarely seen in Sussex – which the Sussex Wildlife Trust has introduced temporarily to graze the vegetation of its Levin Down reserve.
The photograph shows those who took part, excepting the photographer, Peter O’Neill. From left to right are Phil Kingswell, Toni Smith, Jeff Mableson, Sheelagh Hanrahan, Diana Zeuner, Naomi Barnett and Sheena Wooldridge.
