Council Matters

Cocking Parish Council Matters


The Parish Council normally meets on the second Monday of every month except August and the Annual Parish Meeting takes place in May. The current venue for monthly meetings is the Cocking Village Hall.

Members of the public are generally welcome to attend proceedings, but they may be asked to withdraw for certain items of business.  Should you wish to raise an issue with the Council, please do so in advance so that it can be included on the agenda, as only agenda items can be discussed at the meetings.

Parish Council News: The Parish Council publishes a newsletter, about once a quarter.  It is hand-delivered to Cocking residents.

Parish Council Plans and Objectives for 2011

  • Develop activities to enable all residents to access the Village Hall faciilty and the sports field encouraging fitness and activity for all
  • Continue to work to secure better services for the elderly and young families in Cocking Parish
  • Secure an allotment plot for Cocking villagers
  • Engage young adults (age 12+ years) to investigate what facilities could be provided for them in Cocking
  • Continue to work with Sussex Police and all other stakeholders to reduce speeding traffic through the village
  • Continue to monitor development plans for The Croft
  • To support the Village Hall Management Committee enabling the delivery of desired activities in the new Village Hall
